Broward Cares Hurricane Recovery Fund

Broward County is a community that rolls up its sleeves and comes together after a crisis like Hurricane Irma.
That’s why the Community Foundation of Broward, Jewish Federation of Broward County, and United Way of Broward County formed a strategic collaboration called Broward Cares.
During Hurricane Irma, Broward Cares jointly raised money to support post-storm recovery, as well as efforts to ensure our most vulnerable residents are prepared before the next big storm comes our way.
The Community Foundation of Broward knows and understands our community’s needs. We can help you create a charitable Fund in your name that ensures every dollar you give creates a BOLD impact on the issues you care about most – like hurricane preparedness and recovery.
Broward County is one of 5 winners of the 2019 Robert Wood Johnson Foundation ”Culture of Health Award”
Representing Broward County are David Watkins, Director of Equity and Diversity for Broward County Public Schools; Kimm Campbell, Acting Assistant County Administrator; Nan Rich, Broward County Commissioner; Dr. Paula Thaqi, Administrator FL Department of Health Broward, Cindy Seltzer, Children’s Services Council and Scott Strawbridge, Director of Development and Facilities Housing Authority Fort Lauderdale. Broward County is Collaboration County.

Broward County Interfaith Resilience and Recovery
To better prepare for hurricanes and other emergencies, Broward County is collaborating with local faith-based organizations to create a unified and comprehensive recovery plan, which will include the assets of the local government, local businesses, and community/faith-based organizations.
