Broward County is a community that rolls up its sleeves and comes together after a crisis like Hurricane Irma.
That's why the Community Foundation of Broward, Jewish Federation of Broward County, and United Way of Broward County formed a strategic collaboration called Broward Cares.
During Hurricane Irma, we jointly raised money to support post-storm recovery, as well as efforts to ensure our most vulnerable residents are prepared before the next big storm comes our way.
Among the projects we supported was a home repair and storm mitigation effort for low-income elderly and disabled residents. These 15 families didn't have the resources to safeguard their homes. All will soon have trimmed trees, accordion-style storm shutters - and peace of mind.
The Community Foundation of Broward knows and understands our community’s needs. We can help you create a charitable Fund in your name that ensures every dollar you give creates a BOLD impact on the issues you care about most - like hurricane preparedness and recovery.
